Al Muraikhi house - (Pearl Center) recently became Dalma's museum

Historical glance:
From the beginning of the past century until the first half of it there was a hint about Dalma in the book of the British Dweller agent in Elsharka in the year 1906. Its text is:
"Dalma Island became increasingly populated during the festive seasons of gathering the pearls...”
In the year 1936 the new dweller writes proponent: "There are many people living in Dalma Island, from farmers to warriors”

Some of the historical references said about Dalma Island, according to what is mentioned by Elzabiania union newspaper, that researches indicated that in the seventh century after Christ, there were five islands surrounding Bahrain, and there was one of them called (Talmon). This island had fresh water in the depths of its soil and leveled land collect rainwater where trees and the birds grew around it.
And around those trees, Elmarkhat tribe builds the first district on the island and called it (Elmarkhat district). Their homes were built from palm branches and if filled the island. Their ships sailed in the Arab gulf as they dived and searched for pearls in depth of the sea.

Dalma island was considered as the main nautical center for hunting and pearls trade. The records mention that markets stood on its shores regularly and it was where pearl traders came to buy and sell from as far as India.
